The Luma Hotel Website Design for North Borneo's First Creative Design Hotel

The Luma Hotel calls itself the first creative design hotel in North Borneo. A hotel built on design has to prove it online, because guests often judge the stay by the website. The site therefore needed to feel as considered as the interiors, while making booking quick and obvious.

Spacebar delivered the website design along with its UI and UX design.

A moody, design-led atmosphere

The site uses a near-black background with warm bronze and gold accents. Large, low-lit photos of the lobby, plants and timber panelling fill the screen. Headlines are set in a slim, high-contrast serif, which echoes the circular emblem in the logo. Together, these choices make the website feel like walking into the hotel at dusk.

Navigation that mirrors a guest's questions

The menu covers what travellers look for: locations, rooms, about us, eats and drinks, and facilities. The menu also carries a Covid-19 information link for travel updates. In addition, the header displays the hotel's Design Hotels and Marriott Bonvoy membership marks, which reassure first-time visitors.

Booking within reach at all times

The homepage hero reads "Truly an urban oasis" with a single Book a Room button. A bronze Book Room button also stays in the top corner of every page. Further down, room cards present each room type, such as Fern Cosy, Grass Standard and Emerald Original, with its size and bed details. Finally, a "Make room for adventure" banner invites one last click, and a Messenger chat bubble handles quick questions.
